Nine years later

Some pictures I shot on Sept. 11, 2010. It was really odd seeing the memorial and the site where the towers once stood. I can't imagine what this city went through and it was an honor photograph the memorial.

Be sure to look at the photos full screen.

Frank and Nancy

Frank and Nancy are dance partners and friends that go way back to their hockey playing days. Though they didn't know that for few months after they started dancing.

Shot this video for my audio slideshow bootcamp.

Another SJSU photog doin work

I really really really am excited to see a lot of my former classmates, and more importantly friends, doing great work at great publications. My old roommate and the man who took over for me at the Spartan Daily, Stefan Armijo, is doing an internship I believe with Wired.com. I know he is having a great time and learning a ton. Check out his recent slideshow on IndyCar racing.

Sixth Annual New York Hustle Congress

I spent a good chunk of the weekend shooting the Sixth Annual New York Hustle Congress. I have to say that it was a tremendous amount of fun. I really enjoyed snapping pictures of people who were having the times of their lives. A lot of people had just expressions of pure fun on their faces and it was a pleasure to document.

If you are looking to purchase photos from the event, go to www.joeproudman.com/nyhustle and follow the directions from there. If you have any questions just shoot me an email I'll get right back to you.

This is what the galleries will look like when you start searching for photos.

I've realized that it might not be a bad idea to learn a dance or two. It's rather impressive what some people were doing on the floor with just a few well placed and timed steps.

SJSU Represent

So stoked to see San Jose State photographers out in the field (pun?) working and getting great shots. Congrats to Michelle (Arbolita) Gachet and Kirsten Aguilar for getting internships at that San Francisco Chronicle. And to Chad Ziemendorf and John Sebastian Russo for just wrapping up their internships and staying on as freelancers with the Chronicle. It's nice to see Spartans making way in Bay Area photojournalism.

See more photos by Michelle and Chad from the A's/Angels game here.

Dance lessons

Shot this for my RW1 photo boot camp this past week. Two soon-to-be newly weds graciously allowed me to shoot their dance lesson in preparation for their wedding. It was a great experience and this whole thing about New Yorkers being rude and obnoxious is proving to be a myth more and more. Click here to see the photo slideshow.

Hey there!

It's been quite a while since I've posted on here. But I will start again very soon. I've got some big things happening and would love to share them with everyone who visits.

I also wanted to make sure everyone knows that I do have a web site, which is www.joeproudman.com.

Be sure to check that out and check back here in the future.
